Established
in 2003 under the direction of Stephen Wood, POSTAL is a jazz-groove
quintet committed to new music, expressive sound, and the expansion of
traditional musical forms. The group consisting of Wood
(Fender Rhodes), Eddie
Bayard (saxophone), Brett
Burleson (guitar), Shane Willis
(drums), and Scott Gold (bass guitar)
plays regularly in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Woods
reserved and nuanced approach to the Fender Rhodes is complimented by
Burlesons soulful, avant-rock performance on the Fender Telecaster.
Bayard, a modern master of all styles and languages, impresses his bold
genius upon the grooves. Willis and Gold play together cohesively, exploring
rhythmic modulation in constant musical dialogue.

Review, POSTAL is continually exploring the dynamics of Woods evocative
compositions, while developing the orchestration of the groups sound.
Their cd Theory of Chaconne was released in 2003 to critical
acclaim, and is now available in Ohio music stores, as well as through
cdbaby.com.
